Bill Bruford's Earthworks - The Summerfold Collection/The New Percussion Group of Amsterdam

Summerfold Collection - This double CD is a collection of twenty-two of the best tracks from across twelve Summerfold albums, and features music from an eclectic range of artists including Bill Bruford’s Earthworks, Michiel Borstlap, Ralph Towner, Tim Garland and World Drummers Ensemble. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, key tracks such as My Heart Declares A Holiday, Stromboli Kicks, Kinship, From The Source We Tumble Headlong, and Baye Kene N’Diaye will act as an excellent introduction to the jazz side of Bill Bruford, an enduring master-drummer and one of the most innovative players of his generation.

Track Listing: My Heart Declares a Holiday, Pilgrim’s Way, Stromboli Kicks, Temple of the Winds, Candles Still Flicker in Romania’s Dark, Nerve, It Needn’t End in Tears, If Summer Had Its Ghosts, Thistledown, No Truce with the Furies, Revel Without a Pause, The Sound of Surprise, The 16 Kingdoms of the 5 Barbarians, Kinship, Baye Kene N’Diaye, Footloose and Fancy Free, Come To Dust, White Knuckle Wedding, Beelzebub

New Percussion Group of Amsterdam - The New Percussion Group of Amsterdam was founded in 1980 by two solo percussionists of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Symphony Orchestra, Jan Pustjens and Niels Le Large, specifically to bring new and adventurous percussion works to a young and modern audience. This re-mastered edition of Go Between comprises four long tracks of material written specifically for the project and its two stellar featured artists.  The eminent Japanese composer and virtuoso Keiko Abe studied percussion, composition and piano at Gakugei University in Tokyo, ultimately specialising on marimba, the instrument she was to change forever. This album will be eagerly anticipated by both the substantial and devoted Bill Bruford fan base and also by the growing Classical/World Music devotees. Both will appreciate a musical programme with one of the finest percussion groups in the world featuring two brilliant guest artists.

Track Listing: Go Between, Redbone, Marimba Spiritual, Maenaden
