Features “1984” and “Out There”.
In 1981 Rick recorded the album 1984 based on the George Orwell tale and for many of his fans and also his critics 1984 is seen as one of his more rounded works. The album features vocal performances from Jon Anderson, Kenny Lynch, Chaka Khan, Steve Harley and Tim Rice who also provided the lyrics throughout. This album is one of the few Rick Wakeman albums never to receive an official commercial release on CD and as such will be widely anticipated by the large and dedicated Rick Wakeman fan base. The CD has been re mastered for release.
Out There was originally released in 2003 and considered by many to be the true follow up album to No Earthly Connection from 1976. The album features Rick alongside The New English Rock Ensemble. The New English Rock Ensemble includes bassist Lee Pomeroy, guitarist Ant Glynne, vocalist Damian Wilson and long time drummer/percussionist Tony Fernandez who was also a featured member in the latter days of the original English Rock Ensemble and a veteran of many Wakeman albums
The album is a true progressive rock masterpiece and was hailed at the time of release as being one of Rick Wakeman’s best albums and was supported at the time by an extensive British tour taking in almost fifty dates in fifty days.
