Benjamin Britten was a violinist, pianist, conductor and composer; however he is seen quite rightly as being one of the important modern British classical composers of the twentieth century. One of Britten’s most popular and famous works is ‘The Young Person’s Guide To The Orchestra’ ,from 1946, which was composed to accompany the educational film ‘Instruments of the Orchestra’.

Benjamin Britten’s composition in the field of Church music is also considerable and rightly lauded.
