Michael Crawford Biography
Michael Crawford is a British actor who has established himself on both sides of the Atlantic in films, television and musical theatre. He appeared in a number of films in the sixties including ‘The Knack...and How To Get It’, ‘The Jokers’, alongside Oliver Reed and ‘How I Won The War’ with John Lennon. Another major film was ‘Hello Dolly’, where he starred alongside Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau. Michael is probably best remembered in the U.K., for his television portrayal of the hapless Frank Spencer, in the BBC comedy series ‘Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em’ , which ran between 1973 and 1978.
Michael played the lead in the West End production of ‘Barnum’ in 1984, but the role he is forever associated with is, The Phantom, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’.
